Welcome to the Jim Wells County Community Network Web Site, the portal for information on local governments, schools, colleges, libraries, hospitals, health care and social service agencies, business organizations, and other agencies located in Jim Wells County.

Through a grant from the Texas Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund Board and local matching funds, the Network has developed this web portal to provide local residents and visitors valuable information about Jim Wells County.  We invite you to learn more about our county by visiting the web page links at the top of this page.  Another of the Network’s primary objectives is to provide all county residents access to computers and resources available through the Internet.  The Network has purchased and installed 65 Dell desktop computers at several host sites in Jim Wells County, including locations in Alice, Premont, Orange Grove, Ben Bolt, and La Gloria.

• April 30, 2003: The Network launched the web portal and public access computer sites.  To see the news release, please click here.

• June - September 2003: The Network hosted free training sessions for Introduction to Computers and the Internet . There was no charge to residents of Jim Wells County for the training sessions.
